Kyutou Whisky Tasting Evening with Thomas Ling

On Wednesday, 16 July 2025, Kyutou hosted an exclusive whisky tasting evening at Bordeaux Cellar Warehouse, Petaling Jaya, bringing together guests for an immersive exploration of Kyutou’s refined whisky expressions.

Guests were welcomed with a Kyutou Premium Highball upon arrival, setting the tone for an evening dedicated to craftsmanship, flavour, and appreciation of Japanese-style whisky.

The tasting session was led by Thomas Ling, Malaysia’s first Certified Sommelier and an internationally recognised Certified Whisky Educator and Spirits Judge. With over two decades of industry experience, Thomas guided guests through a structured tasting of Kyutou Premium Malt and Kyutou Whisky Gold Edition 40°, sharing insights into their flavour profiles, balance, and intended drinking styles.

Following the guided tasting, guests enjoyed a roast pork and buffet dinner, allowing for a relaxed continuation of the evening. Dedicated promoters were present throughout the event to assist guests, while Kyutou whiskies were available for purchase on-site, offering attendees the opportunity to bring home their preferred expressions.

The evening reflected Kyutou’s commitment to creating meaningful whisky experiences—where education, enjoyment, and hospitality come together in an approachable yet refined setting.
