The balanced, smooth and subtle taste of Japanese whisky can be traced to Japan’s four seasons – each of which produces varied conditions in the diverse oak casks that the whiskies are aged in – differentiating end products with a splendid spectrum of flavours and aromas.

3 Rice

Rice and malted barley are commonly used in the mash bill to produce Japanese whisky in a variety of flavours, while some Japanese whiskies have a ratio of 50% barley and 50% rice.

2 Natural Spring Water

The finest natural local spring water is used for Japanese whisky, which imbues it with a distinctive taste. Each distillery ensures the quality of spring water is nothing less than exceptional, before traditional production begins.

4 Distilled Twice

Modelled after Scottish single malt whisky, Japanese whisky is typically distilled twice. Some whiskies can be distilled up to four times for a smoother mouthfeel.

Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan’s famous water town, and sited near Mount Fuji, our distillery inspires the luxuriously smooth mouthfeel of our signature 40° whisky that rounds into beautiful notes, produced from the abundance of surrounding lush natural groundwater.

Our second distillery is situated near Kirishima mountain. Known as the “cradle of creation”, the magnificence and wilderness of nature close by provides the soft and clean taste of our premium malt whisky range, that evokes a voyage of discovery for the senses.
